Policy Paper Series

The Pacific Security College’s policy paper series aims to contribute a diversity of views and ideas to regional conversations about the journey to 2050.

The series seeks to support informed discussion on how best to realise the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent – the long‑term vision articulated by leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum.

It reflects a deep conviction that effective policy and meaningful academic debate are strengthened by listening to a wide range of perspectives, asking thoughtful questions about where we are and where we want to go, and engaging openly with different ideas.

Above all, the papers look ahead to 2050 with optimism and confidence, fostering inclusive dialogue about the region’s shared future.

The views expressed in the Pacific Security College policy papers are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the official positions of the College, its funder, or the Australian National University.
